Chilly ride
I started out for a planned 15 mile ride about noon; temperature was 48° and the sun was shining. After riding 2 miles it started snowing and the temperature started dropping. Finally said to myself "Self, this is no longer a pleasant ride" and turned for home. When I got home the temperature was 32°--a drop of 16° in half an hour! It's mid-April--where's the global warming?

Global warming decided it was too cold and decided to wait till summer. Gonna be cold and damp this week according to weather reports. I may curl up with a blanket and watch the race on versus tomorrow for my exercise!
|
Global warming is more about variability in the climate, and, changing climates. So, yes, this could be global warming. 80F last weekend, 40s today. Fairly high variability, I'd say.
We got less than an inch down here, but it's been raining or hailing on and off all day. How much did everyone else get? I hear theWoodinville area got 6"? |
The weather is certainly nasty today. The first 1/2 of my 3 hour ride was pleasant, not warm and sunny mind you, but ok. THEN, the sleet and hail started in. 1 1/2 hours of that is ENOUGH for one cycling season.

Went for a ride after work Friday night: 2 miles of sun. 2 miles of sleet. 4 miles of rain. 1 mile of sleet mixed with snow. Then 5 miles of sun and dry; my tires were bone dry when I got home. Since it had stayed sunny at home, my wife said, "Good thing you missed the bad weather..."
