Have people lost their minds this week?
Seriously. I have never had a more vehicle contentious ride than yesterday. Autos pulling out in front of me (they have the stop sign), crowding me in my lane, essentially acting like I had zero right to ride on the road. And one guy passed me in the parking lane, on my right! I caught up to him at the stop light (of course) and actually talked with him. I said his move was very dangerous, he said "you are supposed to ride to the right!", I said not in all cases and pointed out the problem with that particular street. He said, "How am I supposed to know that, there are no signs!" I said you know now and look it up. Fun, fun, fun. And the Port moved a huge cement bollard to smack in the middle of a bike/ped path street crossing...forgot my camera today. WTF is going on?

After 2 weeks of being snowed in and not driving the idiots are dumber than usual, having lost out on any practiced skill they may have previously had.

Reminds me of a couple of months ago when I was riding through Birch Bay, about 25-30 miles from home. I was absolutely freezing, so I resolved to stop at a coffee shop and get some ocoa to warm myself up for the duration of the ride. When I got further down the road, I saw a sandwich board for a coffee shop... smack dab in the middle of the bike lane! I moved the sign off to the side and, obviously, did not give them my business. Thought about going inside and telling them exactly why they weren't getting my business!

At least you can move the sign (I do this too). The bollard requires a tractor. If I had a tractor, I'd move it to block a portion of the Port entry and to make the trucks go around it.

A more appropriate response to this is to break their sign, stick a note on it along the lines of "I broke your sign so it wouldn't break me, please don't block the bike lane", and toss it in front of their store.
Failing that, you can just toss it into tall grass or an empty lot so they'll have trouble finding it.
