West coast rides
I'm planning to drive from Washington State through California and then East for a few weeks this summer. Looking to find some good day-long loops along the way. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks.
Thanks.

Could you be any more general? Not to be too much of putz, but CA is a pretty big state with lots of options. If you give BF'ers a better idea of your agenda; they'll point you the right way.

If you pull off I-5 into Eugene there are some great rides to the east or west. If you stop in Cottage Grove, OR, there is a nice Rails-to Trails path that goes to the east into the Cascades. East of Roseburg OR you can stay at Diamond Lake Resort and ride the rim road of Crater Lake National Park.

www.cascade.org is the Cascade Bike Club site. They've got links to rides all throughout the Seattle area.
You can also look at the Permanents list at www.seattlerandonnuer.org and find some 100 - 200k routes around here.
d'oh. Just realized you probably know about these, since you're starting from WA. My bad....

Thanks for the help. I've heard Eugene has good riding and the bike clubs will surely be helpful.

I wouldn't count much on the bike club, not very good, but there may be some maps that they have. PM me if I can help with suggestions.

The Mt. Shasta Summit Century is supposed to be a pretty interesting ride, and they post their route maps on their website.
Right off I-5 on your way South.
Maps here...

Might I suggest you go east to Yakima and then go south on 97. You will find less traffic and have some great riding. You could ride in Yakima area or down along the Columbia River, you also will be driving through Bend, OR a mecca of rides.
But, as mentioned above a little more info like dates and starting point would help.
