So - famous actor comes to Washington ride his Harley around, somebody throws a bicycle at him?
Bizarre story here:
https://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...aviezel17.html
I do have to say, on some recent rides in the mountains around here I have been *shocked* at the way some Harley owners have modified their exhaust systems to generate extra sound (they are *not* stock). And it just seems to be Harley owners.
I have felt like throwing something myself, but never my bike...

Wasn't me.
My question: random act? Or did someone deliberately go after Mr. Cavaziel? If he's wearing a helmet, how did the bike thrower know who he was?

the cyclist probably saw the movie. That would be my reaction if I saw the star of that movie.

The comments being posted at the Seattle Times site are pretty interesting -- bizarre mix of movie criticism, bicycle advocacy, bicycle hate, religious bigotry, and pro/anti motorcycling commentary.
Just another day in the PNW.

I was having a good laugh at the mixture.

I ******* hate loud motorcycles--or cars for that matter. I went on a ride to Snohomish. It happened to be their classic/vintage motorcycle weekend and I couldn't stand the noise from all those Harleys. All those people who modified their exhaust systems to be extra loud should get tickets and their motorcycles towed away.

Wow what a story!
The funny thing is that the Harley riders say "loud pipes save lives," yet the EMTs still call their rides "donor-cycles"... go figure.

I'm a bicycle rider primarily but I have owned motorcycles and if I had somewhere to park one might have one now. I just enjoy bikes alot more.
It's one of those things where you have to 'walk in their shoes' to see both sides of the issue. Everyone who has ever ridden a Harley comes back with a smile. There are few experiences as sweet as coming off a corner and rolling on the power and feeling (and hearing) that big v-twin building revs.
One thing I really dislike is personal watercraft. I hate the horrible sound they make and the way people act like idiots when using them. Then one year on a family reunion in Cabo we rented a couple of them and in just a couple minutes I was racing around like an idiot, jumping waves, and I'm sure annoying alot of people. Doing and acting exactly like I dislike in others.
So what I'm saying is that yeh, there are things that people do that bug us but hating and especially harming them is no way to deal with it. Sometimes just a few minutes walking in their shoes can go along ways towards peaceful co-existence.

I heard the foolish concept that loud motorcycles save lives but it makes no sense. They are the loudest when they accelerate and how does that help them? If a car turns in front of them, the car wouldn't have heard them. No, loud cars and motorcycles should be ticketed and towed. Let's get the bad drivers off the road, not just keep making cars louder.
