I've watched this being built for most of the past year, as Newport Way is part of my standard bike commute. Newport runs generally east-west between Bellevue and Issaquah, and is a popular cycling route. I'm glad to see the widened shoulders and improvements in lighting for pedestrians, but if they've built that wide shoulder/path to force eastbound cyclists onto it as well, no thanks. I'll continue to ride with traffic, not against it.
