Charge Plug bicycle near Seattle..
 

I have been eager to test out and possibly buy the Charge plug bicycle..

Of course It's an imported bike and not very popular here in the US.. let alone seattle. Im wondering If there are any stores around the seattle area that stock this bike so I can give it a try.

I've looked at chargebikes.com and their distributer page... which brings me to BTI-usa.com... but all the shops ive called have never heard of charge bikes. The closest one I found was in portland, oregon which is a 3 hour drive... not too bad but im wondering if anyone knows of something a little bit closer.. thanks in advance.

For what it's worth we have looked at Charge before with great interest, and we also have a great relationship with BTI on other speciality European lines they carry. Our single-speed/fixie market is very low indeed (three years with one fixie sold at rock-bottom clearance price), and until they bring more multi-speed options into the country we're still waiting.

I've just sent an e-mail off to our contacts at BTI asking them who is stocking them up here, and I'll let you know what they say asap.

Quick update - our main contact at BTI doesn't think there's anyone up here in Washington, but he will verify that for me when he gets back into the office on Monday.

For what it's worth, (a) we can special order them if there are no other dealers up here, and (b) they are waiting for a while before bringing in anything but the F/SS models. I know that neither of those tidbits answer your original question but thought you might like to know all the same :)

I just heard confirmation - there are no Charge dealers in the Seattle area.

I'm going to end up buying it the Charge Plug online from UniversalCycles.com because.. they are based in Oregon State so that saves me about $75 in sales tax.. and there is a promotional code "vip15" that saves me 15% ($112). But thanks for the trouble my friend!

... the only problem is i can't test it out first because they don't even have it in their retail store.. only in their warehouse. Size M it is!

I'm no pro rider by an means, but I'm looking for my first fixie now. Just yesterday, I tested the Plug, Fuji Feather, and Masi Speciale, and the Plug felt much better than all the rest. I live in Columbus, Ohio and there is a dealer here. I was very impressed with everything about this plug. It's definitely different than all the "retro" styling of most of the other fixies I've seen. I hope this helps a little bit.

For sizing- I rode a medium and it was as almost perfect. I'm just under 6ft. The LBS said the Large is designed for 6'2" +

Yeah I wish i had a chance to test ride it. I know the Plug has an unusually short top-tube, did you feel cramped at all?
