So long, Anchorage, and fare thee well!
I'm heading back home to Seattle soon after two months up in Anchorage, and I feel I've got to give the city a lot of credit. Commuting into downtown on a dedicated system of paths? No problem. Ride straight up into the mountains from the city? Sure, buddy!
Bottom line: as weird as this place is, and as dangerous as it can be to ride on the street here, it's a great place to bike. If you head up to this corner of the continent, bring or rent a pair of wheels.
