Mountain Biking Near Portland?
 

Hey, I wasn't sure whether to post this in the "Mountain Biking" Forum or in this but I think this one will get me an answer sooner. If this is the wrong spot my apologies, I'm new here. My question is, are there any good easy beginner mountain biking trails in or near Portland Or? Nothing crazy but at the same time not just a flat path, I want to be challenged slightly by it...

Here are a few options that you might want to research (even just a Google search will get you quite a bit of info.) There are some new trails out beyond Sandy off Hwy 26, some decent riding south of you outside the town of Mollala, and a cool loop around Hagg Lake. You can also have some fun on the fire roads in Forest Park. Further away (and a little harder), I'd say Hood River or the McKenzie River trail (outside Eugene).

You also should check out the Black Rock trail system near Dallas, OR (west of Salem). They have a variety of trails with easy, intermediate and difficult markers, and it's in a beautiful State forest. It's worth the drive, and part of the fun is watching the better riders on the jumps and steep trails. http://brmba.org/index.php?option=co...id=4&Itemid=11
