Gold Creek/Dungeness trail help?

Been reading up on it but not sure I know where the start is. I just hiked the Tubal Cain trail last week and saw a sign for it across from the trail head. Do you shuttle or ride up there from the big parking way down at the bottom of the hill? Does it come out at that big parking area at the river trail head? Not entirely sure of the best way to go ride it.

Gold Creek / Dungeness is a favorite of mine. Shuttle? Bite your tongue! You need to earn those downhills. You ride it as a loop typically starting from the Lower Dungeness trailhead. See the link below.

We did this ride back in November, I love that trail but boy its tough! I won't do it again on my all-mountain full suspension Trek Liquid. Definitely earned it by riding some of the hills. I should've brought the hard tail for this trail. Anyway, here's the GPS loop we did...

I'll be looking forward to doing this again come spring and summer! Spectacular views and so quiet, well at least during early winter! Hopefully its like that during other seasons.

Darn, you caught that whole shuttle thing. Us over 40 guys get to every now and then don't we?

I was thinking that would be the plan. Park at lower Dungey, take the road up and cut into the woods across from Tubal Cain. Do you pop back out at lower Dungey or do I actually need to do some navigation?

It's pretty straightforward, check out the directions on the Evergreen website, and a couple links you'll find there. At the bottom of the Gold Creek trail, you pop out onto an abandoned logging road, head to your left over the old bridge, climb on that road for about a mile and end up back at the Lower Dungeness parking lot.

But if you shuttle, you'll miss the Dungeness River Trail trail which, once you get past the first three miles, is a pretty sweet trail.

BTW, I am 50 and I would never consider shuttling this loop, if that adds to your guilt factor at all
