Mt. Baker

Just to let everyone know the road to Mt. Baker (542) is open to the ski area and they are clearing all the way up to artiest point.
Currently you can ride past the road closed gate and get almost to artiest point so unlike last year, it looks like this year we can go all the way to the top. If anyone has not ridden Mt. Baker it is a great climb and desent. Start from Glaicer and it is 25mi and 4800' to the top so 50mi round trip count on about 3-4 hours total. If any questions ask away i love riding Baker.
Have fun

Or spare yourself the anguish of mountain climbing and ride Baker Lake from Hwy 20 and enjoy the views.

I don't think it's 4,800 feet ele gain. I rode from Maple Falls to Heather Meadows (the end of the plowed pavement) about a month ago, and it came to 3,350.

But it's a great ride!! Do it when there's clear weather on the mountain; like Rainier, it makes its own clouds.

From glacier to the top it is indeed about 4800' of gain, if not a bit more....
