Bike Gallery fitting experiences? (Portland, OR)
Hello everyone -
My girlfriend just purchased some shoes and pedals and wants to be professionally fitted to her road bike. Does anyone have any experience with the fitters at Bike Gallery, positive or negative? Price is a concern and BG seems to be doing fittings cheaper than other places..

Things may have changed but in 07 I had a bike fit done at the BG Beaverton Store and I was satisfied. Hard to believe that was 5.5 years ago though.

I had Bike Gallery tweak the alignment of my cleats many years ago. Since I'm not symmetrical (right leg 1/2" shorter than the left; wacky pronation, too) it helped a bunch. They didn't look at me funny when I brought in my recumbent, either.
If you want to spend a bunch of money, see Micheal Slyvester: https://bicyclefittingservices.com/ . IIRC, he developed the fitting services for Bike Gallery.

I highly recommend Demitri of Europa Velo, previously owner of Veloce Bicycles on SE Hawthorne. www.europavelo.org.
He is excellent with fitting women and is one of the less expensive fit experts in town. He fitted and built an IF Single Speed that I rode Tou de Blast 1week after I picked it up & used on multiple 200K rides. Tell him Jon referred you.

I had a fitting done by Rambo at Beaverton BG in 2009. He made some pretty big changes and at first it felt really weird, but I gave it a week or so and it worked out and ended up being much more comfortable than the way I had things before that. I went back in about nine months later for some minor tweaks in position (included in the original price). I'm still using that as the basis for setting up all my bikes now. Very happy.
