Coos Bay Wagon Road?

Anybody ever ride this route? Coos Bay Wagon Road. I hear it has about 15 miles of gravel.

I also learned of this route from the site DeTourOregon.com. Burnt Mt. It's a little longer and all paved, but I'd assume it'd involve more elevation than the Coos Bay Wagon Rd?

I did it in Sep 2012 on a Cross bike with 32x700 tires. Not a bad ride. The gravel road is a little rough on the descent. There is a cool waterfall toward the end of the descent. The road was a little dusty at that time so the 3 cars that passed by dusted us up a bit. The country store in Dora isn't open anymore so no food until Myrtle Point.

We did lunch at the Myrtle Point A&W Drive-IN. After some cheeseburgers and root beer floats my riding partner decided he'd had enough gravel so we road HWY42 back to the Roseburg area.

I hope to do the burnt ridge ride this summer.

Here is the starva data for my ride.

Thanks John! I really appreciate the link to your ride. Nice time! That climb after Lookingglass is a lot steeper than I thought it'd be.

I will probably riding it this summer on a 5 day loop. I plan to use my converted mountain bike with 1.5" tires. My buddy plans on using his cross bike. I suggested he consider using a little wider tire. I appreciate you including the tire width you were using in your post.
