Bike fitting in the Everett area
 

I've been seriously considering a professional bike fitting for a while now. I live in Everett, but I am willing to drive to Seattle or Bellevue, if necessary. Any recommendations based on personal experience with fittings would be greatly appreciated.

if you're willing to drive to Seattle, go to R+E Cycles in the U district. Smiley does their fittings and he is as good as they come.

They fit me with one of their off-the-shelf bikes several years ago and I've never had a bike I felt so right. A couple of years ago they fit my wife and me for a tandem they built for us, and we both feel like it is a better fit than our single bikes. More relevant to you, before I ever set foot into their shop I was referred to R+E by a friend who raved about the fitting they did for her on a Lemonde - saying that the quality of that service isn't limited to Rodriguez frames.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check them out. I've been to the Bicycle Centre in Everett, but not Silver Lake.

I purchased my bike and was fitted by Donny at Bothell Ski and Cycle. Very happy with the outcome and definitely recommend getting a fitting be it from the crew there or at any of the aforementioned shops.

Side note, new to everett... Any ride recommendations up here?

Lots of great riding close to Everett. Not sure exactly where in Everett you are, but I do a loop that takes me down to the Mukilteo ferry, up the Mukilteo speedway, and then loops back parallel to Evergreen Way. For a ride in the city, it is decent. But the best riding is from Snohomish, IMO. 90% of my rides start by dropping into the Snohomish valley through Lowell and across the river road. Very popular riding area. I usually ride out to Snohomish Bicycles, which is on 1st street in old Snohomish. Great shop too, btw. Martin, the owner is a super nice guy and his mechanics are great too. They do a great shop ride from there every saturday, rain or shine (or snow, or ice, or whatever, NEVER been cancelled) that starts at 9:00am.

If you like paved trails (MUPs), check out the Interurban trail in Everett. It goes from just south of 41st street all the way to, I believe, Shoreline now. Not the greatest ride around due to the number of street crossings, but it beats the heck out of riding some of the streets you would otherwise have to ride to go that direction. Worth checking out for sure. I regularly meet up with a friend on his commute home along that trail. Another great trail is the Centennial Trail. It starts in Snohomish, less than a mile from Snohomish Bicycles. It is a great trail that will take you north of Arlington now IIRC. My only caution is that on a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon it can be like a freeway at rush hour in certain sections. It is extremely popular.

I recommend that you go here: Routes at Bikely.com and you can do a search for everett WA and a bunch of stuff will come up.

I like to drop into Snohomish from Mill Creek go up Lowell and head back via the Interurban trail.
If I have less time, I'll just do the Interurban trail from Mill Creek to Everett.
