My wife is not athletic. She does have a bike, but she thinks bikes are transportation. Go figure.

I don't see why they closed that thread. It wasn't mean, and it was fun. I was just thinking of posting this before it was locked.

She pushes the big gear and can hold her own on the flats (esp now with her psimet wheels), but she's better suited in the mountains. She's a climber and in our club, is usually the only woman.

What bike does she have?

Nothing to be scared about. There's very little about her that's scary. And hammering a TT definitely doesn't fit her riding style.

Her bike is the matte black Paketa I posted earlier. Because she's small and the bike has compact geometry, the setup is rather ugly. And can't fit two cages, hence the AquaRack.

Hey RUOkie,

What's up with your username? It's misspelled.

You should try the ones I got. Her bike looks to have more room even than mine ---

Although I initially encouraged the side loaders, I quickly gave up. She really likes the AquaRack. Over distance, she likes the extra bottle.

Here is the route I'm planning. Should be made of fail, but no lights, and no chipseal (difficult around here)

She jams those big Polar insulated bottles into the AquaRack. Works pretty well.

I agree. Your wife is quite smart. She also has a firm grasp of the obvious.

I like the gloss black. Seems the matte may be in style now, but a passing fad.

Also, as somewhat of a craftsman, I prefer looking at a nice weld. Cannondale, as an example, will grind the area down and fill it in. Smooth, but I feel it may compromise the area.

Back in the day before everything was carbon, the BF weenies used to talk about "good welds." It seemed to be a regularly debated issue, what a good weld should look like. After that, I never really considered good welds to be ugly.

Must be a cool kid carbon thing.

That's what my tri-obsessed friend has. It looks like a silly Batman bike.
