i'm really not enjoying riding in the cold. i just can't get fired up for ages and the first hour is just a painful slog. i couldn't understand why i felt so hot yet i was not able to easily ride. when i stopped i realised that the air was really very cold despite how hot i felt. it sucks riding in winter. i'm toying with giving up and plling the trainer out. i so do not want to do that.

I can't ride for much more than an hour. Yesterday after the ride my feet were so numb it took five minutes for them to start feeling like normal feet again.

I'm hand wringing on sunglasses. Maui Jim's are pretty spectacular.

heading out to the country involves uphill riding right from the get go. a few uphills, one or 2 downhills and some flats but the trend is up. this means i have no time to warm up. a normal 40 mins ride to the country is taking me just over an hour and most of that time is uncomfortable riding. I might just go to the park and ride laps until the weather warms up.

if you don't need perscription glasses or inserts, there are some really cheap ones. i don't know what makes the expensive ones expensive.

I use the Performance brand for cycling since they cost $20. I replace them when I need to. I love the optics of Oakleys, but the way I lose glasses, no way. I had a pair of Maui Jim's last year. I lost them.

I'm good with my sunglasses. I lose just about everything else. I wear them so religiously they can never get far away.

I own Oakleys, but I swear their design team must be consistently high on meth because they crank out some of the ugliest sunglasses I have ever seen.

i lose detatchable things as often as i breathe. so far this winter, 2 beanies. you would think something you wear under the helmet would be impossible to lose. well i managed it. 2 pairs of gloves, one woolly hat. how can i not notice the sudden coldness when i lose a hat? i give up.
