DiCaprio's character didn't need to create inception in his wife to get them back to the real world. He could have just thrown them both into the train (or poisoned them both or something). Then she wouldn't have killed herself in the real world.

I missed plenty of things seeing the movie the first time, but I thought one point is that you can't control an idea once you plant it in someone else's mind. So it was not possible to foresee the event that you mentioned in your spoiler.

I know he couldn't forsee that event, but he did something extremely difficult, which had never been done before. doesn't seem like your wife would be somebody you would experiment on. seems like you would just grab her and jump in from of the train, or feed her poison. either way, he would have done something to her without her consent- inception or killing in dreamworld. killing in dreamworld would have been much easier and more reliable.

I had an interesting discussion with one of my club-mates on today's ride.
I was commenting on how I wish I was faster and mentioned some of the stronger guys in our club.
He said that the main difference between me and them is not strength/fitness but just the ability to suffer and keep going.
I am not so sure about that, I wonder if the ability to "suffer" matters as much as innate ability.
Any thoughts?

This is good to hear.
I watched the movie on the return trip from Europe. I liked the movie more than I thought I would, but I agree with kuf's comments.

Now that I have got used to cold weather riding, not that it was that cold today, I can say I hate it. I can cope with it and I know how to manage the cold so I can still function but it really does suck. I hate it.

Public service announcement for all you homeowners.
Please check your batteries in your smoke/fire/CO detectors. Otherwise the low battery signal (which sounds like the actual alarm) will go off at 5am on a Sunday when you are trying to sleep in.
Oh, and then it will be 18F with 25mph sustained winds (wind chill of -8F) when you planned to ride today.
Another day on the trainer.

I'm not asking for anything this year. I don't need anything and I would prefer that my family (especially my sister and brother) used the money for things that they need. If they don't spend it on themselves I would prefer they spent the money on my nephew.
