Cataract surgery riding

I am going in for cataract surgery in 6 weeks. Wondering if any here had surgery and were ok to keep riding? I have retinal detachment in July and surgery with gas bubble and the dr allowed me to ride inside ok just taking easy spinning. Never was a problem. I hope I can at least ride inside. The eye with the surgery now has to have cataract out as it caused it to get worse faster.

My doc recommended a week off from my daily mountain biking. Not sure if he would have been okay with indoor riding. I didn't ask because I hate indoor riding and a week off isn't that bad.

Wife and I have both had cataract surgery. Due to weather and other matters neither of us have been oh the bike beyond a few miles, but neither of us feel a problem related to that.

I stayed off the bike for a month, at least.

If you can afford to get the once a day drops, they are worth it. I had a lot of trouble with them, which is partially why I stayed off the bike for so long. You may have to tell your pharmacist you are willing to pay what your insurance doesn't.

I went for the dropless surgery. It was nice to not need to deal with the post surgery drops. I know others who have done the same with good results. If one is a candidate for it, it is a good way to go.

Google "dropless cataract surgery"

Apparently they waited to invent that until after I had both eyes done. Would have been nice.

Yes it is. I had mine done 7 years ago. Wish I had known then what is known now. I could have had my vision corrected. Now I just wear cheaters to read with.
