I agree, but with a Dahon Vitesse or Mariner, you can have that, with a better design, time proven production, and probably at lower weight.

I don't think you could have easily switched to a hub in a Speed 7 frame. And 7 gears are plenty if they're spaced right. I'm a big hub fan myself, and would recommend getting one with your next bike...

Someone needs to bring back the SRAM I - motion 3 and the old Sachs 5 - speed hubs. They've not yet been improved on, afaik. I'm hoping there will be increased demand now.

I can't believe they're still sending those out with those Mickey Mouse 46 T integrated cranks. Anyway, you're getting a great frame, and can upgrade crank and bottom bracket later, if desired....

Just for insurance, I would try giving Dahon customer service a call. Sometimes they used to have certain parts. Have the frame # ready, if you can't find the model year.

I had asked the SRAM cs rep if over - tightening the axle nuts could cause this, and he said he didn't know. But a few weeks ago I loosened them a little, and that seems to have solved the problem.
