You mean 7 speed right? 7 speed is easy, literally any Shimano 7, 8, or 9 speed derailleur will work with it. Tourney is the lowest...

Good luck on the update!

I had an 84 World Sport- it was a fine bike for what it was- CrMo main tubes, Hi-Ten fork and stays, Suntour AR drivetrain, SR crank, and DiaCompe most everything else.

OP, try out the Micronew/microshift 7 speed...
