If they were riding in a pace line then they have a big aerodynamic advantage. Think of yourself as a lone breakaway rider getting sucked up by the peloton. ;)

At 6'2" 200 lbs I am frequently an XL to 3XL depending on the manufacturer. It is a wild guess as size charts are often not reliable.
