The lever is a cam lever, not a wing-nut. Did you purchase the bike at a bike shop or another retailer?

As others said, these parts are not compatible. You've got yourself into a pickle since trying to unscrew the freewheel from the freehub body (counterclockwise) will just turn freehub body.

those are not compatible you have a free wheel...

those are not compatible you have a free wheel which does not fit on a free hub (a cassette goes on a free hub, a freewheel goes on a threaded hub)

in this case i would put a freewheel remover...
