Screw you NBCSN

No final yellow jersey presentation or final three on the podium. Cut away so you can talk about NASCAR.

Amazing.

Further the race did finish about half an hour behind schedule

And they cut away to a race that hasn't even started yet. We miss out on the yellow presentation just to hear some pre-race talk. And then they run some COMMERCIALS first. I give NBC three weeks of my time, watch all their endless commercials and they can't extend TDF coverage 10 minutes?

Comcast thanks you kindly for being a loyal robot for doing exactly what they want.

Yep. Sadly we have no other choices when it comes to watching it live.

There is a Tour recap on NBC at three.

VPN and watch Eurosport. It is what I do. For the same money you get way more cycling coverage year around.

Cycling in the USA always gets shafted like this. Back when OLN was showing the TdF it was bull riding that overrode TdF coverage. On Universal Sports it was hockey IIRC. What is sad is that this time of year there's tons of sports going on and the big networks resort to airing replays rather than covering it. As bad as men's ProTour has it coverage wise they at least have it if you know where to look....the women's racing seldom even sees live streaming coverage even in Europe, and in the USA not at all.

What are the chances they will show the final three presentation, the yellow jersey speech and national anthem?

Zero

I will try that. Though with Time Warner ISP and my lower to mid-tier laptop I don't predict good results.

Eurosport uses Silverlight sadly. But you don't need that much computing power, only a VPN gateway in the UK with enough throughput.

I yearly Private Internet Access account is $2/month, and Eurosport is like $5/month depending on exchange rates and if you buy month-to-month or yearly....and you get replays, and year-around ProTour coverage (all spring classics, all grand tours) as well as some continental races-and that is just the cycling that I pay attention to. For what NBC or Universal charge for 2 grand tours, you get year around cycling coverage.

Though I actually consider myself computer literate, I suspect setting up a VPN will be difficult to impossible.

With a service like Private internet Access:

0)go to their site: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/
1) Purchase an account
2) Install their client
3) Start said client
4) Enter your login creds
5) Select a gateway (UK Southampton or UK London)...little lock icon will become green.

That is it

Then google Eurosport player, start an account there, pay with your visa....and start watching Eurosport. Note, to make an account with Eurosport you must have the VPN tunnel active...they use a really simply IP address geolocation check to lockout non-EU users (that is easily bypassed by VPN). When done watching, you can exit out the VPN client and all your browsing of Amazon will return to locating you properly.

Try it for a month...after you decide you like it up for a year.

My wife and I said the same thing. The greatest sporting event and they cut it off at the presentation for a Nascrap race that wasn't even running. What BS! Highly dissappointed and already sent off a complaint email.

Comcast has already deleted that email.

One of the worst and most disliked companies all around in the USA...and they don't care.

I didn't send it to Comcast. I'd get a better response talking to the toaster. My email went directly to a contact at NBC Sports I made a few years ago through work.

NBC Sports is owned by NBC, which is owned by NBC Universal, which is owned by Comcast.

You can call a chicken a horse, but it is still a horse. Your email went through Comcast servers, and if read by a human that human gets their check from Comcast.

App works for **** and on demand is not live. Plus you need to pay for it. I already pay for NBCSN. Three weeks of coverage and they can't wait 15 minutes to cutaway to NASCAR and commercials.

So on the Customer Satisfaction Survey, it sounds like you're "mostly satisfied", then?

It's all about the ♪money, money, money♪..... Personally, I've never had pay per tv. As each major sport moves to cable access only, I move to reading more box scores. Somewhat out of curiosity, somewhat for small talk. After recently attending an event that time shifted for FSN preferences, I'll liking not be attending many sporting events in the future either. When you get down to it what's the point of living vicariously through someone else's achievements when you can enjoy your own. Even if on a smaller scale.

I don't get your app comment. The "TDF Live '15" iOS app worked, both live and on demand. Still does; I can watch the replay of every stage still.

Yes, the app does cost. We cut the NBCSN/Univeral/Bein monthly fee cord and paid $20 for the app instead.

Regardless of where the paycheck is coming from, I expressed mine, and everyone else's disappointment of how the podium ceremonies were cut short. My comments were sent via a direct email to my client, who works for NBC Sports. Its not a company email address but a personal email address. I expect some lame corporate response but you never know since there is a personal connection.

I watched the Tour mostly on Eurosport Player and that wasn't perfect either. Sorme days my video was blacked out and other days there was no commentary, just ambient noise. Never did figure that out. I ended up watching the final stages on France 2's live stream which was low-res but reliable, and on the pirate feeds which were so blocky and stuttery that all I could see of the final sprint was that someone in a red jersey won the sprint in a stop action claymation sort of video. The trials of watching bike racing live in the USA.

$20 for an app I can only use 3 weeks seemed excessive. But seriously, I was ok with the coverage on my tv except for their inexplicable decision not to show the overall podium award. I still want to keep NBCSN at home as I watch it throughout the year. Going to do what was suggested and stream Eurosport from now on.
