Peter Sagan everybody...

The guy is making a showing. 2 stage wins over 4. 15 stage wins at ATOC (most all-time?)

Yes, he has the most stage wins at ATOC, followed by Cavendish with (I believe) 9.

He's an animal! We were at the start in Morro Bay yesterday and got his (and his brother's) autograph on my December Peloton mag with him on the cover-cool. Great to see him win after that! He's gotten very adept at laying back in the race until just the right moment; then freestyling his way to the win, no curse of the rainbow stripes here.

He's a lot of fun to watch, even if seeing him in a group with a handful of climbers does take all the suspense out of the finish.

This moment from this year's Paris-Roubaix is one of the most amazing things I've seen anyone do on a bike. Who has reflexes like that?

Many of them I expect. But unfortunately for them, they don't have the bike handling skills to do anything about it.

Yeah, it looks like the guy behind him tried to do the same thing but failed.

Sagan doesn't like his chances much on the road course for the Rio Olympics, so there is this today from Cycling Tips:

It was confirmed today that the Slovak Cycling Federation (SZC) has sent a request to the UCI for Sagan to be awarded a wildcard slot to compete in the cross-country mountain-bike race in Rio.

I was thinking yesterday how I have not seen Sagan crash out of a race, though he was hit that time by a moto. In the article linked above it mentions (video too) that he DNF'd at a MTB race in Austria early this year, his first crash-out in 7 years. Is that a long time? Seems like it.

I've liked Sagan since his professional road career started. Still have my screensaver set to him hopping over Cancellara in Paris Roubaix. There are only about a half dozen riders in the peloton who could have escaped that unscathed, and none of them come anywhere close to equaling his palmares. He's become a very smart racer, he animates any event he is in, and he seems like a great guy who likes to give back.

I'm blown away at how he's consistently in the mix with the pure sprinters.

He was doing a post-stage 3 interview yesterday and surprised the interviewer when she asked what he thought of the future stages and he basically said: I don't know, I haven't looked at them -- that left her a little speechless

Peter is definitely a favorite of mine...that said, if it comes out that he doped, I'm going to be very sad.

I first noticed him when he wheelied up Alpe D'Huez in 2013 (well, not all the way up, but it was still cool)

He did apologize... and he seemed to actually be contrite... and he's behaved himself since then. It was juvenile and I think he's matured.

I really don't like his nasally voice though... he should sound more like a Slovakian James Bond.
