time for fantasy dauphine!

a fantastic tour de france warm-up stage race (8 stages) with some great riders (purito, froome, contador, bouhanni) attending.

i'm finding that it's simply too long between the giro and the tdf to not play the criterium de dauphine.

entry deadline is 11:30 am european time on sunday, june 5th.

good luck!

Thanks. I really need this virtual supplement because I don't have already enough chances in the real world to make bad choices.

Excellent lineup and should be an exciting race. I don't play the game, though.

Do you know what time? I'm assuming the middle of the night. No big deal I work nightshift next week and I have to switch over at some point, why not tonight?

No. Mornings US Eastern time. Live video start varies a good bit, often 8-9ish though earlier on epic and queen stages. Finish usually end 10 or 11ish. Steephill posts times for each stage as they come along and links the legit and bootleg feeds. See here. Only the prologue is up, and it is running uncharacteristically early.

We live in the French Alps, about an hour's drive from Les Gets. Went up there today to watch the prologue. Here are a few photos:

Alberto Contador

Richie Porte

Chris Froome

Thomas Voeckler

Romain Sicard

Tony Martin

Nacer Bouhanni

You're welcome. Time trials are really fun to watch, especially if you have the list showing the order of the riders. We were about halfway up the climb where the road was at a 12-15% grade. This was steep enough to slow them down to about 18kmph (11mph), so we got to see them really well. The picture of Contador isn't great, since he turned to spit just as we took the photo! I'm not a fan of his, but I posted it because he won the stage.

I'm working this week, so no more live stages for me. However, the TdF will be passing through July 21st-23rd with the 21st being another mountain time trial. I may have to take the day off work for that one.

Looking at strength of teams, it's pretty tough to beat the Froomedog, Landa, Pouls, Henao climbing machine. That train is going to wear down pistolero if he gets isolated.

Awesome start with a prologue like that, and stage 1 and 2 have been mighty feisty.

I thought I might squeak out the bike forums yellow jersey today, but no, stage 4 is up and I'm still lurking in the middle of the pack. Which, BTW, is still on the podium! Ha ha.

Looking forward to finally hitting my stride in the Tour de Suisse. I've got my winning team picked. I almost set up a league there, but didn't want to steal ooga-boogas thunder. I assume you're feeling bad enough already with that team of yours.

slcbob...ahead of me yet again! just set up the tour de suisse team. did get an unexpected win with aru today. i'll take it since, as you subtly noted, my squad bites-softly.

Darn it! I pulled a Porte and slipped off the podium at the last moment. Ooga-booga, you Dan Martin'd right past me while all eyes were on Froonam73.
