Phil Liggett by far my favorite announcer in any sport. When he calls the finishes it's just wow
No doubt Landa is a strong rider. But...and again in my opinion, Froome is stronger. Now there maybe a changing of the guard in a couple of years...maybe even next year. Will see.

Phil is a Turkey capping off yet another dotting old fool performance with an entirely unneeded F1 Spoiler with absolutely no notice.

To me, he is a bit freakish. A silly comparison but Froome and I are both 6'1". I am built long and lean as well.
What is freakish to me about Froome is his power to weight ratio. A guy who can climb as well as he can and yes come in third overall in the TT at the end of the race. Unbelievable what a blend of riding talent he has.
There was a point where I was training a lot and decided to drop my weight and see what it would do for my cycling. I got down to 168#...and looked almost like a skeleton...and I have slender legs and Froome has pretty good size quads but skinny lower legs and of course toothpick upper body which I don't because I am also a swimmer. But Froome gets down near 150# at 6'1". He is a basically a skeleton with heart and lungs the size of Secretariat. If you think of Bradley Wiggins who also won the fabled TdF....he's built the same way...a skeleton of a man only I believe Bradley is 6'3" or so....below:

Will only take a stab.
The guy doesn't like Phil and not sure about the F1 reference. Does Phil know Formula 1?

I didn't hear about this. But not surprised since I only catch the daily stage summary videos on youtube. After searching for it, I found this article:

'It's to be expected': Chris Froome brushes off fans' boos on stage 15 of the Tour de France - Cycling Weekly

At the bottom, it says: "Gone are the days when armed policeman stood guard outside the team’s bus, with fans throwing urine at the riders." Really? I'm a bit shocked that this happened in the past.

Edit: And a little more searching got this: https://www.bbc.com/sport/cycling/33581524

Not really but he had no problem announcing the Vettal flatted on the last lap at Silverstone out of nowhere.

Considering both races were happened at about the same time and he didn't make the announcement until after the race was over ... he probably figured the people watching the Tour didn't care about F1 and vice versa ... i am not about to start calling out sports announcers for giving spoilers unless it is the same sport.

But then I like Phil and Paul ... can't trust my opinion on this matter.
