Thanks for all the answers to my newbie questions! I have a better understanding of strategy now and the commentary. I don't watch the actual race, just highlights from YouTube and also the backstage pass of Orica-Scott on YouTube.

dstrong is looking dgood. assuming froomie wins the whole enchilada, i'll need trentin to win the last stage and the points classification along with z-man winning a stage or leapfrogging nibbles for second on gc and a stage win from one of my mountain goats and not have any of dstrong's team rip it up with a win, place or show the last handful of stages. a whole lotta if's. kinda like the nfl playoff tiebreaker scenarios. pretty darned unlikely.
i still think contador goes with all he has, multiple x's, on stage 17. he's too proud to go out with a whimper. he might find an ally or two in orica or astana. normally, i'd add movistar to that mix as well with valverde and contador joining forces over the years but with valverde not riding and movistar having a lackluster (for them) vuelta, not seeing it.
and on a side note...was looking to have 7 of my 9 riders (gc and climber guys) finish in the top 30 on gc. there will be some shakeup the last few stages to be sure but i've got 6 of 7 within the top 30. polanc is close and may squeak in. #gamewithinthegame #smallvictoriesdaily

And Govanni Visconti comes through! Not to mention reliable JJ. Finally a significant gap to Ooga.

I've been steadily dropping off the back of the peloton, so today's finish is good for me, though I know a lot of us have De Gendt. I was hoping Jungels would nab second or third, but 6th isn't bad. I don't know if I can finish in the top 10, as I hoped, but this has been fun. I sure did a horrid job of picking GC contenders!

Thanks! Velogames and CBS Sports Gold certainly kept me engaged in the three GTs this year! See you in the spring!

Who took the 3xGT overall? VG parallel of UCI Points Champion?
See you all in 2018.
I'm kicking myself. Had to displace from DC up to Boston to cover some family needs. I was going to go play hookey and zip up to Quebec & Montreal on my motorcycle for the races last weekend. Just prior to leaving I remembered I didn't have my passport. D'oh. At least I remembered before the border crossing.

1. Andras @ 1681 (overall)
2. yours truly @ 1689
3. Glen Gallo @ 5155
it's a little misleading since we had dismal attendance for the giro-only 6 registered teams. the tdf and vuelta were better repped. hopefully next year we'll have a better giro showing to get this competition really firing.
bummer you didn't catch the races. both are fun cities. maybe next year!

ooga booga, will be there a Tri Fantasy league next year, too, so the hits can keep just missing? Your pal is up to something.

I wonder if there's a way Menchov can let me down again, just for old time's sake?

if i'm not doing the spring classics then i'm def not doing "triathlon" leagues, slcbob. it's gonna be a long winter for you with thoughts of cozying up to tvg and pinot in the giro to ostensibly get you through. not sure you can ever truly get over a rider that falls off his bike going uphill (multiple x's) however. ah menchov!
