Derek, you still interested in the private DC hub?

Also you others, interested in a private Direct connect hub amongst BFers? so that we can share JUST cycling clips amongst ourselves

Chalk me up as another VERY interested party. I download a lot of TV torrents, so I'll keep an eye out for it and post it here if I see anything.

Yup, we really need a central place to download stuff that we just can't always watch when it's on, like the mechanics of LA thing, anyone record that ?

Yes, I totally agree. OLN has totally screwed up cycling coverage this year. I don't care what has to be done so long as I get to see every stage.

Well start one and let's see the interest. I don't think it would be that high.

Indeed. I'll do what I can to share the files if someone can rip/encode them.

it would be better if you used bittorrent and uploaded it to a dump site like mininova.org

technically, there's nothing illegal about a .torrent file itself, as it contains no copyrighted data.

although that might have been changed by the recent grokster supreme court decision last week.

in any case, i think the US government might have some difficulty in shutting down trackers such as thepiratebay which are colocated in sweden.

try this - https://www.mininova.org/upload/

you'll be the first "Seeder" for the torrent. the 'maketorrent' program creates your original .torrent file, which you then upload to mininova, or another tracker of your choice (thepiratebay is also popular, and used by a LOT of europeans.)

also, try to put as many searchable keywords in the torrent name as possible, such as:

"Tour de France 2005 Stage 01 English OLN MPEG2 TVRip"

https://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/m...nt/index.phtml

It would probably be helpful to encode those files as Xvid. MPEG is huge unless you captured at a low bitrate/resolution. Rule of thumb based on other torrent distributed files I've downloaded.... your files should be around 450-600MB per hour.
