Quick hit placeholder team in place.
I suspect I will remove him, but I will sob when I do: Taco Van der Hoorn. That may inspire my next nom de guerre.

It was a sad moment, but necessary. I needed mas Mas and menos Taco, to avoid becoming carne asada for the wolves that are gathering at the chalet door. My new and hopefully improved team is locked in. The VeloGods can make their usual sport with it.
Bring it on, people! It takes a village, AKA eine kleine Dorf, to make it a little harder to get on the BF podium and, therefore, more momentous when one does.

stage two prediction...as much as the stage lines up for the classics-style guys (viviani, sagan, benoot, gva, etc), going with albasini ftw.

Good grief. Bora gave that away. Sagan obviously had the legs to win it, but no help from the team. Why oh why did they let Sanchez stay out front with no real pursuit the last 5 km???

Yes, Sagan. Trentin and Matthews in the mix, just to rub it in that I almost picked them. Elia MIA from the top bunch in the same way I predicted for Tejay, so maybe that means he wins.
I'm spending more energy trying to rationalize my picks than analyze my predictions. No, really, I'm going to do well in the later stages. Look out. Be afraid.
I would like to see JohnWaters Degenkolb get a result before he takes July off, but I fear he is doomed to the little bunch just behind the podium.

So with the Ineos voodoo and a strong tailwind from the slcbob curse, it looks like Egan Bernal and Tejay van Garderen will be duking it out for the podium at Le Gran Boucle.
Elia likes the tailwind, too.
Small consolation, one4smoke doesn't have Matthews, but those riders are certainly on a storm and probably out of my reach. I have a long row to hoe pulling the (s)pokes back once the road tips up. I think I can. I think I can.

Tomorrow may be a day for the break. My heart says Kung. Or maybe McNulty stretches his legs. Or LL Cool S and Jan Hirt take off and make it interesting for Astana. Then my head says shut up, heart, you have no clue.
Glancing at the teams in our little league, I note that I am in proud possession of 50% of the picked riders who have scored 0 points to date. 3 are mine, of the total of 6 that we all own. I am glad I am getting this out of my system before Egan, Tejay, and I dominate at Le Tour.

and when i saw thomas crashed out, i immediately thought of bernal unleashed (not unlike a young contador) in the tdf. never want to see anyone injured or out
but i had a fleeting moment of all the young guns led by bernal, buttressed by poels and knees. pretty sure i'm not the only one. what say you?

The climb with about 40km to go may prove to be a bit much for him, but well see. Maybe a good opportunity for another breakaway win.
