How to watch the Giro in the US?

I did a search in my cable listing and only see one station carrying it, in Italian, and I don't have access to that station anyway (1194).

Is the only option to watch it from the clips posted online?

Thanks

FloBikes. Warning that their subscription is for a year, even though they say you can cancel anytime, what they mean is you can cancel the annual renewal at any time.

in addition to flo bikes you can sign up for Fubo TV -just their cycling channel. It's $60 until the end of the year.

https://support.fubo.tv/hc/en-us/art...ass-2020-work-

I used it to watch Milan San Remo and Tirreno Adriatico. Adequate coverage. They use the race feed. I have not used Flo Bikes so I can't compare them.

I used Fubo in the past and have Flo & NBC sports gold now.

NBC n/a for RCS races. They've got the ASO contract.

Fubo works fine. But the race is live stream only. They give you a DVR feature with 30 hrs capacity which you have to set and use and watch your limits (Grand Tours fill that up pretty quick) if you aren't watching live.

Flo works fine. I really don't like the Flo guy but he does features not the race coverage so no big deal. Flo has what we've come to expect which is live or on demand.

Both of them are a crap shoot as to the commentators. That's on a race by race package. But I find most of them more tolerable than the ads on the NBC team feed. I like the NBC bunch but can't bear the ads so I use the Ant & Simon ad free stream there.

Another good approach is to get a VPN service and choose a faux IP location so you can do Eurosport or something. StrongVPN is a good one. There are others.

Fubo does have a recently aired option now. I am guessing that will allow people to watch Giro stages sort of "on demand". for instance they still have tirreno stages listed as recently aired.

I also have the NBC cycling pass and did enjoy the ad free coverage feed & commentary provided by Anthony & Simon. I hope they are doing the Vuelta. It was just Anthony for Fleche Wallone yesterday .

In other words, they are all "pay" services. Right?

Pretty much. Cycling is about the only sport that I can't get enough of on free TV. For me here in the USA, NBC Gold with the Cycling pass is the least expensive. It has it's blemishes though. Seems like for many of the races the commentator is having to do everything them self. Sound mixing, read twitter for questions being sent in, check stats and info that they just thought about and want to give to the viewers, and probably many other things keeping him/her busy that leaves them in a monotone drone while they comment on the race.

They don't have the Giro though. But they do in normal times have a lot of the one day classics and other important tours as well as the Vuelta a España and UCI World Champion races. And you usually have your choice of the add-free or the commercial version for races that were televised on free TV. So if you missed DVRing them, you have them in the replay section of NBS Gold.

While it's not a "watch the Giro" solution, I gotta say The Tour Tracker app has gotten really good over the years. Full of features now, and the "full subscription" is still less than 3 microbrews. (my standard yardstick of valuation). Really was my go-to during the TdF. worth checking out at thetourtracker dot com

Eurosport is free and the VPN to get to it is the cost of a latte.

But what sort of nonsense starts happening to your computer when you use a service like that?

NO. It isn't. Their streaming as a standalone is 40GBP per year.

Thanks, Marcus. I stand corrected. It's been a while since I did it and I was wrong to assume things had not changed. Good info for those who might foolishly listen to me.

Are the replays still free? For me, that's more of an academic question since I'm set up already. I can recall watching full race replays from them more recently that were geo-restricted but not account-based.

There are a couple of free broadcasts (RAI, SRG SSR, ?) that I see one of the innovative VPN salesmen flogging to cycling fans, but I don't know if you have an English option or on demand.

As for robertorolfo , the VPN won't cause any problems as long as your tinfoil hat is snug.
