Cyclingnews later contradicted itself with this comment:
" VIno could still move up a place with the bonus seconds at the finish, which still apply as far as we know."
Its now listed the final GC order
5th place to Vino and 6th Place to Levi

Vino earned it but I'dd have liked it if Levi had tried to defend his position on the GC.
Another example in just 3 days where the people that support the riders don't do their job.

Maglia Ciclamino
Yellow/GC - Lance Armstrong
Green/Points - Thor Hushovd
Polka/Mountains - Michael Rasmussen
White/Young Rider - Yaroslav Popovych
I'll remember this Tour for two riders' efforts: Rasmussen and Vinokourov. Rasmussen was a real KoM champ. I hope he'll meet continued success and not be remembered for his stage 20 meltdown.
Vinokourov was an ANIMAL. For you fans that have latched on to bikeforums during the Tour, I invite you to continue following the Pro Tour through this season and pick it up next Spring as well. Because those of us who follow the sport, love competitors like Vinokourov. He won Liege-Bastogne-Liege earlier this Spring, the oldest of the "Monuments" of cycling. We love guys like Jens Voigt who bury themselves for a day in yellow even if it means abandoning out of sheer exhaustion.
You're already here, you might as well stick around and see just how good ALL of these guys are.

Guess I should have been more clear, I don't find fault with Levi's teamates but with his director and staff.
I can't find any reports of Levi at the front of the peloton trying to limit the damage.
One can only make the assumption (maybe wrong) that nobody told him his GC position was not secure.

Seemed to be a misunderstanding about the changed reglement.

Given a comfortable GC lead and having already secured 3rd in the Polka dots, what prompted Lance to go grab the 3 climber points today?

DOH!!!
I turned off the tube and went back to sleep, thinking this last stage was going to be ceremonial, boring, etc., etc.
I missed Vino attacking....that's what I get.
I'm going to watch the replay later.
Way to go Vino! Get yourself on a kick @$$ team next year and win yourself a TDF!
Where was Levi? I can't believe he/his team/the team managers let 5th place go like that...
