Thread for early spring WT races - UAE, Omloop, Paris-Nice etc.
I don't know how many of you will be following the early spring races closely, but here's a place to talk about them all without trying to sustain a thread on any one of them in particular.
1st stage of the UAE tour today. I won't post a spoiler about who won, but the effect on the GC was pretty shocking.
Looking forward to some great racing in 2021.

And now van der Poel and his whole team have pulled out of the race b/c a team support person tested positive.
A pity. It was one good performance. I think his cyclocross fitness was giving him an advantage over the rest of the field.

I'm not sure if anybody is reading this thread.
But MvP was again a beast in the Strade Bianche.
And though Bernal came up short, he did OK. One wonders if his back pain will really hold him back this year.

it's not like ineos doesn't have a bleep ton of capable riders that can step up. i'd bet that sivakov can take the same step tgh did
last year in winning the giro. and the team has a few other diamonds in the rough that would be contenders on any other team
(except team jv).

Gotta get in on that GCN subscription. I thought that was a great result for Bernal. Did anyone checkout the slow mo shot of MvdP?
You can see Alaphillipe see the acceleration then look back at Bernal. I think JuJu lost it when he looked back instead of grasping how hard that acceleration was!

Wow indeed! MvdP braving that weather for the solo win is inspiration for getting out to ride in the spring time. Gosh he looked completely drained, will be interesting to see if he can make the TT time cut. But geeze he almost lost out to a surging Pogacar!
Where'd Higuita go? He was up there then finished 20 minutes down. Whatever I'll not be forgetting Higuita next time. Also another sweet little victory for Magnus Cort and EF in the final day of P-N.

MvdP was out of gas at the end and Pogacar coming hard. Total respect for both of them. van der Poel looked totally spent at the line, but he held on.
Roglic dislocated his shoulder. Bummer. I hope he's better and back to form in time for le tour.
