Free ways to watch the Giro in the US?

Anyone? Last year the only cable station carrying it was completely in Italian.

No, it is not on NBCSN.

In the US it will be on GCN+. Along with a lot of other cycling.

You other option is to get a VPN and pretend you're in Europe and watch it with their broadcasters.

Look at steephill.tv for other info.

don't mind the italiano...it has passion which is occasionally lacking in translation to english.

They may have an app for some smart TVs, otherwise you can use Chromecast from a phone/tablet. There's also a web browser option, but I haven't tried it.

I popped for the $10 for a month of GCN+ and plan to cancel after the Giro since the TdF is on NBCSports.

I watch GCN+ on my big screen in my man cave without an app. I live stream it on my laptop and connect my laptop to the tv via HDMI cable. Works for me.

I use a firestick and it's fantastic. I've been watching live racing almost daily since mid March. Plus all sorts of great documentaries.

splurged on the $15 for gcn+ and the giro and will prob keep it for the tdf highlights. doesn't look like they're carrying the vuelta howevs.
will likely cancel in october once i've gone thru the road racing season and watched whatever vids appeal. haven't really watched
much live racing the last decade (mostly highlights) so it'll be a nice change.

^ ASO owns the Vuelta now so that'll be on NBC. Not sure why GCN gets highlights for le Tour and not la Vuelta. They may have just skimped on the fee.

In the GCN race lineup today I saw the Tour of Rwanda. I was going to watch it just for some sightseeing but it will be tough with all the Giro coming at us fast and furious.

So back to the original question - is there a way to watch free in the US? I think the poster is wondering about possibly some sites that would rebroadcast without needing a VPN or additional service.

Back to my original answer in post #3. Look at steephill.tv

There used to be some pirate live stream links they'd post there in the broadcasters section, but those have gone the way of the buffalo. You can see the broadcasters and geo-restrictions and navigate your VPN path, or you can live off the highlights links that are posted on the daily stages.

Short answer: no.
