Who watched The Hour Record?
I didn't get to see it yesterday but I suppose it's on you tube Alex Dowsett from ISN
|
I watched about 10 laps, got really bored, and found another way to waste my day at work.
|
I watched the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes.

I think to be there in person, it would be engaging and exciting to be cheering him on. On video, not so much.
I always find it curious that they do this in Mexico at 8000 feet. The reduced air resistance makes up for the lower oxygen. I wonder who will be the next one to take a stab at it. |

Dis Jensy do this in Mexico too?

I saw a snippet a week or two ago of Merckx in his Molteni jersey doing his hour, and that was in Mexico, too.
I wasn't tracking the attempt and for a moment assumed from this thread he made it. It looks like he came up ~500m short. Nice re-attack by Dowsett to try to get back on top. Maybe next time. |

He did it in Switzerland, but Campenaerts was in Mexico. I probably shouldn't have implied that it was always, but it is a favorite and is the place where the current record was set.

OK, then. It's gonna belong to Ganna for a while, I'd say.
I watched parts on the Youtube livestream while I was also doing something else. It was kind of cool. He's a beast. |
Also kind of cool that he beat Boardman's non-record record, thereby ending an asterisk era that has lasted 25+ years.
