Good luck to all the competitors tomorrow, real and fantasy. Superclasico is just getting warmed up. Yikes.
The VG Spring Classics will be over soon. I squandered my final wad of transfers with an eye toward the remaining races. That'll work out great.

Stage 14 - Amstel Gold Race

Keka is 8th in the super classico sixes, wild stuff! I didn't think Ben Healy could do that again but boy was I wrong! Lutsenko had an outing, I had thought Sobrero could've been a good outsider, but no. Good run though, but wild time gaps. I had hoped to see Higuita do well here also.
I think maybe it's time to squander some transfers in my overlooked spring classics.

Stage 15 - La Flèche Wallonne

I caught the last of Fleche and it was a good spectacle. Larry Warbasse got a mention from GCN, Bardet had a moment blunted by a Canadian notorious for not holding his line. Why do they peck at each other and let Tufts ride away? Spare a moment for me when I had both Lafay and Landa in my initial team.
Shout out to our newest interloper and their merry band of Portuguese speaking geriatrics. Love the team names but am still disappointed by any lack of chatter aside from semroc, Bob, and the artist formerly known as Ooga. My attention had been stolen last week by freak warm weather, then I had to recover from my disappointment in Roubaix from Degenkolb's incident.

LBL - I threw in Alpecin's Jason Osborne for my 4 point rider. A TT specialist with some results, seems like a great guy to make the break.
Went with Powless again, Landa, Ciccone. A lot of interesting riders to choose. Like Vlasov, or Lutsenko. I still say Sobrero could do something. I really wanted to sneak Bardet in. I'm hoping my non selection will see him across the line with a good result. Was it last year in Fleche that Bardet was a DNF because he ran to assist Alaphillepe?

La Doyenne should be a heckuva race. It's #16 of 41 in Superclasico (jeez!!!) but the coup de grace for Spring Classics. We'll finally get to see just how much keka 76 crushes us all by unless canam73 can pull out all the stops. I'm hoping I can keep that pesky Xuxo off my heels and the podium.
I don't even want to pretend I know how the Pog / Remco thing will shake out. I hope Powless stays on his bike.

Stage 16 - Liège-Bastogne-Liège

Ah yeah nice shot Bob! Interesting to see some results like Conrad, Healy, Buitrago - they'll be straight to the Giro.
Top score in L-B-L went to two teams that tied at 2418 with Evenepoel, Pidcock, Woods, Healy, Van Gils, Skjelmose.
Get well Tufts!

over the classics. personally, can never tell heads vs tails there. not that i'm much improved with the weeklong/grand tours...def looking forward to the giro tho. we've still got the recent slate of youthful *ss-kickers
along with a few more recently on the scene mixed in and a gt always unearths another few. this giro will be phenomenal. can't wait.

Romandie is chock full of folks not riding the Giro. The Giro looms like a big dark seething pink mass on the horizon. All will be good soon with the added drama of 21 stages.

Get ready for May 1st, 6th, 7th
Tomorrow May 1st we have Eschborn-Frankfurt. There's the 8% Mammolshain three times? Then the Feldberg is repeated this year.

Good preview there - Philipsen could make the climb, but some great attackers at this race too with Trentin, Matthews, Schelling, Politt, Hirschi ...

A costly non-pick by me today. Ventoux is evil.

The races just keep coming.
Keka with a Vinegaard-esque lead. Shadco is making the fight for second interesting with a stage win today. He is looking awfully Tadejy.
I fear I may be channeling Carlos Rodriguez or Rasmussen rather than Yates.
Next up: world championships.

drawing exactly zero points on stage one of the tour de pologne is a helluva start. pretty indicative of my year as a (w)hole.

Never say die. Never.
P.S. our little league is limping along, barely there. Keka is at the top and barely cracks the 50th percentile. Uggh. Poland. Wait until Benelux...
