CyclingStage.com Maps of '23 TDF

On the CyclingStage.com site, they have very good maps of each 2023 TDF stage. Some maps show green dots on the route for example on Stage 10.
Does anyone know what these dots signify?

I tried to post the URL but bikeforums wont let me. If you Google: 2023 stage 10 cyclingstage.com you can see the map.

Best,
Bill V

The website Cycling Stage TdF has more details, but here is the overall map.

I don't know which dots you are referring to, but some of them are showing transportation between venues.

Thanks for replying CE.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Stage 15: ://www.cyclingstage.com/tour-de-france-2023-route/stage-15-tdf-2023/
(You'll have to add "https" in front of the address as bikeforums wouldn't let me paste the actual URL)

If you blow that up a bit, you can see that the last 8k of the Stage shows green dots.

I'm just wondering what they mean.

Best,
Bill

Thank you for replying CE.

Yes, and the details are what I'm looking for.

If you look at the last 8k of the Stage 15 map from CyclingStage.com (as just one example) you'll see the dots. They show up on other stages as well.

The map you show is from the Official TDF site. Great for the view from 40,000 ft but not details.

Best,
Bill

The best maps of Le Tour (for what I need) are on cyclingstage.com. Nice, granular detail and solid commentary.

Have you figured it out?

I saw the mystery dots earlier but they no longer seem to be there.

SLCBOB: You're right. No green dots on Stages 10, 16, 9 and 6 maps now. Still a mystery to me. I thought maybe they meant the road was closed to traffic but I don't think that's right since I read that the Stage 9 finish is closed but those green dots are gone too.

World Tour races are always road closures. They may be rolling closures like we saw recently in Romandie where the laughing bunch was outside the bubble, but they are always closed to traffic for the leaders and field.

There are often extra detailed maps for the caravan that shows things like places where team cars may not follow, cut aheads, diversions, etc. When I first looked and saw the green dots I wondered if that might in play but when I saw them it did not look rights.
