UCI Mens/Open - Junior Gears
UCI added OPEN category to the men's. I have not read and studied it all, so I am open to correction. Add this to the removal of gear restrictions and Juniors might be winning some World Tour races. They certainly will be winning national races.
Why?
They are no longer forced to have lessor equipment.
They are allowed to compete in the same races as World Tour pros.
We have had "juniors" win and be at the top of many other world sports (tennis, soccer).

Did the UCI have junior gears?
I know USA Cycling did until this year. I haven't heard anyone say they were sad to see it go.
