I mean, he's always said that he wants to ride it. Do we assume he'll be retiring in the next year or 2? He's going to be 40 soon.

Even if he's on the squad, who says he's going to be the leader?

Legend

I hope he rides it. Four wins=legend. He should domestique for Gee. Gee should be jersey number one. Have Fuglsang, and woods work for Gee too.

Israel's squad has 4 riders who never rode the Tour before. Chris wasn't included. I guess that's it for him - much as I hate to admit it. Isn't he retiring when his contract ends, next year? He'll be 40.

I'm still mad at Froome and Bernal for those goofy/horrific crashes. Froome arguably was not altogether to blame for his, maybe, but Bernal, a Tour de France winner, running into the back of a bus head down while fooling around racing with his local pals??

Ineos should have hired babysitters on electric bikes to follow those guys around and blast an air horn at them when they were about to do something dumb.

Froome will keep going until his contract ends. I mean, why blow a couple million to train and ride - even if you don't ride in prestigious events.

Clearly his team management is doing all they can to develop riders for after he's gone. Can't say I blame them. Can't say I blame him either, but I'd like for him to avoid the excuses he's made the past 2-3 years. He was already past his peak and that crash was horrific. He's fortunate to be able to walk, let alone ride in the pro peloton. IPT took a gamble and it didn't go how they hoped. Fairy tale career heads off into the sunset. Worse things have happened.
