I heard he tried but couldn't find them afterwards.

Staying on course can be hard but is SUPER important. It's even harder than finding links to post to substantiate a comment and seed a discussion.

The LA marathon last week was lost by a fraction of a second after the 2nd place guy lost 5 - 10 seconds accidentally following lead vehicles that were leaving the course.

I've made wrong turns on course before as a race vehicle driver, ironically on something like the 7th lap (i.e. should have known better) after they moved some fencing (it's their fault!!) and opened a side street a block early. Fortunately no riders in trace!!!

It is very understandable and happens more than it should. OTOH it is entirely unforgiveable and cannot be tolerated. String them up! No, really. I suspect that pilot will be blackballed for a while and will have to work their way back up through the ranks.

Italy, mafia…

An Italian rider up the road - lead the favorites astray!!

Plausible I say!
