Lantern Rouge
Iker Flores was this year's Lantern Rouge, or last-place finisher. But he's not ashamed.
"I'm not the worst rider in this year's race," Flores declares. "The worst riders dropped out.
"When you get dropped, quitting is easy. Keeping going is hard. It's about honor."
People say that just finishing the Tour is an accomplishment. Flores accomplished that.

Yeah....something that distinguishes him from the other riders the course announcer can shout over the megaphones. A criterium organiser would love to get:
-Any (or all!) of the jersey winners
-national hero who maybe won a stage or wore yellow
-stage winners or high profile riders
-lanterne rouge.
-some fast locals guaranteed to animate the race early, but know their place in the final.
Means the fans who come out can see their heroes, get some autographs, photos etc etc....
