Bobby has been critical of riders since crashing out of the tour early in the race, but it's good to see he knows how to put some praise as well. When Floyd's peers are speaking this highly of him and his effort, not to mention cycling greats of the past, it really tells the story of the significance to those of us who haven't followed cycling or the tour as long.

bobby julich is a candy ass. who cares what he thinks?

did you see mattias kessler go arse over tea kettle and get up and continue racing for his team clearly in shock and with rocks in his helmet?

bobby j. would have packed it in right there.

and in an early stage kessler went away for a stage win and after racing his heart out missed winning the stage right at the end. but you know what? kessler went away the next day against all odds and won.

kessler and landis have the hearts of champions, and that's something bobby j knows nothing about  .

julich got a little too much up there in his noggin. can someone be too cerebral?

at any rate, he's a really good rider.

What ever your opinion of Bobby Julich is, lets be reminded of the facts that he's been a pro for how long? Both Bobby and Kesslers crashes were amazing not to mention painful. But to say that one would have continued where the other didn't isn't much more than a personal opinion. I was amazed to hear that Kessler got back on his bike after going over the rail, obviously he was determined and his injuries allowed him to continue. Doubt Kessler would have if his wrist had been broken he would have been able to continue either.

bobby julich has a long record of being a prima donna. sorry....can't respect that guy and i'd have to see the xrays to really believe that he broke his wrist.

Who needs X-rays? It was an open fracture. Looking directly at the bone is a highly accurate method.

How many Olympic Medals do you have Ed?

Julich was third in the protour last year, what place were you again?

Just because you disagree with somebody doesn't make them a candy ass. Can't you raise your level to an intellectual response instead of resorting to ad hominem attacks.

What exactly do you mean that "he has a long history of being a prima donna?"

Is he a Jabroni too?

here's a snippit from bobby j's blog:

While Landis is likely out of the running for the overall win (8:08 is just too much time to try to make up), he can still bounce back and try for a podium spot.

and here's what floyd landis said before he rode himself back into contention on stage 17 in what will go down as one of the finest stages in tour de france history.

"I don't expect to win the Tour at this point," said Landis after his ride yesterday. "It's not easy to get back eight minutes. But I'm gonna fight, because you never know what's going to happen next."

do you notice any difference in how these guys think?

well, maybe you don't  .

here's another knee slapper from bobby j's blog:

I am really kicking myself right now. Every time I close my eyes, realizing that the Tour was so wide open, it was my opportunity of a lifetime, it really was. With everything that went on that day before the crash, the morning, my warm-up, my mental frame of mind, I really thought I was going to accomplish two of my goals, winning the stage and taking the yellow jersey.

could you imagine lance or floyd landis posting something like this on the internet?

ROFLMAO!!

boy this guy is toooooo much  .

Darn, I thought I left this kind of stuff behind when I quit reading the Daily Peloton forum.:(

Never a dull moment with ed rader in the forums....ed rader...the new Barcelona Rider.

Not everyone has the gifts to win the Tour. To be sure. But Bobby's limited but distinguished palmeres speak for themselves. I've met the guy, watched him finish a Tour on the Champs and race in the CSC Invitational in 2005 in Arlington. Man, the panache he showed in splitting the pack and creating the winning break in that race - I used to think like Ed that he was a pissant, but after that I changed my mind. I guess ignorance is bliss.
