Probably a dumb question, but I was looking forward to seeing Paulo Bettini in the TDF this year. Anyone know why he isn't there?

He rode the Giro, and was probably not considered a realistic GC hope for the TDF. The TDF is mostly about Boonen for Quick Step.

He's set to race in the Vuelta and can't imagine it's advisable to race in the Giro, LeTour AND Vuelta and expect to compete.
