So how are you liking the Tour so far?

I am finding this one of the most entertaining tours in a long while...probably since '89 or even '98. The wide open-ness (sic) of this year's edition just keeps me tuned in every night way past my bedtime. Between Robbie winning after his crash, Cancellara's early heroics and Vino's inspiring TT....this is one I am enjoying more than many of the last 10 years' versions.

Cheers,

Brian

Touché

Every one of the recent stages has been an outright battle. It hasn't been just one man dominating 1 or more stages and then protecting his lead. Though Lance's responses to attacks on him were equally as exciting. It is a nice surprise, how this tour is shaping out to be. I expected a bore. I have been pleasantly surprised. I can't wait for each new day/coverage.

lance was boring, this is exciting...

This has been awesome. Other than Ras leading I love this Tour.

This has been the best tour I can recall (limited as it is). Seriously, we really have no idea who is going to win the Yellow, Green or KOM jersey, and we have 6 stages (5 effectively) left to battle it out.

I really, really hope tomorrow lives up to the hype. The question is whether Contador thinks he can crack Rasmussan. It is clear Rasmussan is not going to lose all that time on the flats and TT's. So that leaves Contador having to gamble tomorrow and try to see if he can crack the Dane.

watch the col de marie blanque...it's nasty and steep...that's where things will really happen.

It's been a great tour, actually, one of the best since 2003...lance was boring, i agree. Now, there are surprises. I've been rooting for Soler to win KOM...i hope he gets another stage win and the jersey. It's been a long time since there's been a really good colombian. ANd Boonen having a good tour with two stage wins and the green...and robbie hunter! I've always liked him. The mountain stages have been really hot! The tour has been so much more fun since lance retired, since we actually have some surprises and excitement.

Barloworld with Soler and Hunter have added a real underdog component to this Tour that is lacking in most tours.

Vino has been both amazing to watch as well as sad as we watch his dream come crashing down. A great rider who unfortunately has Malone syndrome (Malone was a peer of Jordans and also did not win a title)

What is odd is that with Rasmussan in the yellow and competing with a Disco rider, I have little to root for in terms of the yellow jersey. I am much more interested in the KOM and Green jersey this year. I wish that Evans had not cracked. I was rooting for him to win it.

Finally - I am glad there is a great Colobian climber as well. If I were a small team, I would scour Colombia and Mexico. I bet there are some really good riders down there not getting the necessary exposure.

This is my first tour to watch daily and only my second tour to watch since Lemond's first tour in the early 80's. I enjoy the daily heroics and drama and wonder what Im gonna watch the other 49 weeks every year from now on!!!

i agree,it's great to see another colombian...and teams should be looking at colombia and mexico more, since some great climbers seem to emerge from them. Actually, colombia is wel known for that already, and i think they're just starting to see mexico as potential. I was really rooting for soler and he'll probably be on a bigger team soon...he's really young! as for barloworld, they are for sure going to be in next year's tour, with two big stage wins so far. I'd really like to see soler win another mountain stage and get the KOM.

My hope is that Barloworld gets advanced notice of being promoted to the Pro Tour. If that occurrs, look for Barloworld to increase its sponsorship dollars and sign Soler to a long-term contract. Also - look for Hunter to stay if that happens. If he is ensured of remaining in the Pro Tour, I see no reason why he would switch. He likes riding for a South African team.
