Looking to buy my first TDF DVD. Anyone care to share their favorite year and video title? Best place to purchase?

1986 was quite a battle between Hinault & Lemond. A good look at how hard Lemond had it breaking into the Tour. Their team split it's support between the two. A soap on & off the bike.
1989 Fignon & Lemond swapped the lead every other day. Fignon had the tour wrapped up going into Paris with 58 sec. in hand. Lemond toasted him in the TT to win the Tour by 8 seconds & set a record TT speed that stands until today.

Do you have this on DVD? I'll try some generic web searching for these... thanks again.

If there was a video for it I would state the 1987 Tour Roche and Delgado was an epic clash that lasted until the last day.

I would go with '89. A great battle till the very last day, check it out HERE
I agree with Ih8lucky13, I wish they would bring out the '87 tour on DVD, it seems largely forgotten about but was truely one of the great tours IMO.

Here's a fun 9 minutes of YouTube worth watching... TT with LeMond and Fignon. Wow.

As Ih8lucky13 points out 87 is a great tour. I just watched the 1985 tour. Lemond was strong & could have won but played second to Hinault.
