La Grand Boucle Feminine 2008, Bunch of Pics.

We are developing a portable bicycle. We are in a phase in which we have to accumulate kms on some samples. We knew that this year we had both the Men tour de france and Women TDF stopping by not too far from us (we are located in Turin, Italy). That was a good chance to mess around with the portable bike and accumulate kms uphill and downhill. Finally we decided to go see the women one. I have never seen it before and it should have provided better pictures then the men one.
Off we went.
I have posted a bunch of pictures that we have shot just after the finish line at the final stage of the La Grand Boucle Feminine Internationale 2008, which finished in Sestriere, Italy last Sunday.

Apparently the race turned out to be pretty good, with the first 3 cyclists in the classement battling out for the gold jersey till the last km. For what we have understood from the speaker, right after climbing the Izoard pass , where they encountered strong face wind, they climbed the Montgenevre pass and then the Sestriere pass. For what the speaker said, the gold jersey switched from one to the other several times during the stage. A long sprint at the last km settled the race by 12 seconds.

Strangely enough there were very few spectators that showed up. Practically, I would say that only 8 or 10 people showed up on purpose to see the race !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All in all women race is the same thing as men race but with much fewer people and the bikes and jersey are frequently colored pink, fuchsia or purple.
There has been one problem.
The answers to the podium interviews were really too dull. I mean really DULL.
An unforeseen level of dullness that even a Nascar driver would have said: “ Duh..!”.
