Carlos Sastre, who won the Tour de France for the first time this year, has announced that he has left CSC-Saxobank to join the Cervélo TestTeam project. The 33-year-old, who finally rode into Paris in the yellow jersey in July, said he wants to achieve more goals in cycling and can do this with the new Canadian-based team that was only founded last month. |
Hmm, shallow move
Team CSC has been in the TDF several yrs running - along with Carlos for 7 yrs.
So after Schleck brothers sacrificed their hopes+dreams to put Carlos on top - Carlos bugs out. I respect Carlos, but this move appears shallow. Much harder to win if you don't have a strong team to back you up methinks. Lets see. Good luck; I will cheer for Frank & Andy - and LA in TDF-09. |
