Sponsored Hardware Question from a n00b
Ok, so I have a team and Trek sponsors it. Does that mean ALL of my team rides the same model Trek? Is that how it goes for all the teams? They just pull up in a big truck filled with bikes and say "well boys, pick out one that fits you!"?

Yep. Most teams use a single bike model for road races, and another for TT.
However, there is a new approach called 'quivers', in which the sponsor provides a range of bikes for different types of roads. Cervelo and Garmin adopt this approach. |

The lower paid riders don't necessarily get such special attention. |

Back in the steel and titanium days the frames were custom made for each rider. Due to the high costs of molds though, these days only a select few may get a custom made carbon frame. So, most riders ride a factory bike, but with their name painted on though.

Mr C, to continue your history lesson you might want to find out about the "Huffys" the 7-11 team rode.
