Contador's Mom Slams Armstrong

"Armstrong es un ídolo roto. Me leí su libro, era un ídolo para mí y mi hijo, pero ya no lo es"

Man, talk about piling on.

Its getting crazy.

As a soccer fan, I can't stand the Spanish press. They report wild and crazy rumors and are sensational at best. Anyone who knows soccer will understand what I mean.

Actually, that's a very good example. Everyone in jail is innocent and so is everyone in the peloton.

Contador has a consistency problem. Not good to get caught.

"Armstrong is a broken idol. I read his book, he was an idol for me and my son, but no longer"

"My relationship [with Armstrong] is nil. He's a great champion and he had a great race in this Tour but it's something else on a personal level, where I've never had a great admiration for him and I never will. But as a rider he is a champion."

I was going to post the same thing. Spanish soccer is crazy, both the coaches and the press--and to some degree the players. They are all saying things about one another and taking jabs when they can.

So for a Spanish rider and/or press to do such a thing is no surprise, even though it is uncommon for folks in America.

For this reason I sometimes don't watch the Spanish or Italian leagues because I can't stand the stuff surrounding the game.

I heard Lance's uncle twice removed told Contador's half-sister's aunt that maybe one day we should just all get along and forget about this foolishness.

I'm sure you didn't mean to mislead, and really wanted to say that there is some inconsistency in the English language press stories about what AC and his mother may have said separately about LA in their native tongue (Spanish).

Can't be worse than the British... are they? In English soccer, the press reports big headlines that somebody "slammed" another, whenever even the most slight non-positive comments are spoken (almost always out of context)

Wow! I actually thought that this post was a joke, but the article is real. Alberto's mother doesn't have really flattering things to say about Armstrong or Bruyneel. I thought Armstrong was popular with the ladies... not that one!

Now, let's see if Armstrong is going to say something insulting to Alberto's mother on his stupid twitter account.
