Applause to Boonen, one of the stars of the future(and present) for his wins this year. And to Robbie for recapturing the Green. The Green, White and Teams competitions were all hotly contested this year which made the Tour absorbing, while Lance completely DOMINATED his competition for the Yellow.

I just don't see the next Lance, Hinault, or Indurain in this years field, which should make each coming Tour that much more intriquing.

That was a great finish to a so-so Tour.

I wish I could have seen it. I'm happy Boonen won, but I was really hoping for Zabel to take the green jersey for a 7th time.

It did make me sad, though. I've been getting up early every morning or rushing my rides when I do the early AMs to get back and watch the Tour. I was so happy for my first season with OLN- it was all that and a bag of chips, and I'm ready for the rest of the racing season!

Gonna miss my Tour de France fix with my morning coffee, though. But I'll be taping all bike races for the rest of the year, and that should take me into the winter months, especially when I move to the trainer.

I was really cheering for that break that formed early on the Champs. That would have made an incredible finish to watch those powerhouses get to battle it out.

I really regretted not taping the 03 Giro and Vuelta... was going through withdrawl all through last winter.
I almost ended up buying the DVD of both.

Yes, for that and the '30 years from now' thing.
Races are good for riding on the trainer. (a lot of snow here, so the road bike has to stay in for at least a few months)

147 riders completed the Tour. That is exactly the same number as last year. I guess I expected the number of DNFs to be higher this year. The early stages seemed to have more crashes than usually this year. I wonder if OLN will cover the Tour of Spain?

Has anyone heard or read anything definitive about why LA bridged up to that break for a while then dropped back with the peloton early on? I figured he was just feeling good and felt like doing it.

He was flicking Fillipo Simeoni. Simeoni is the fellow that is suing Lance for calling him a liar.
Now it looks like theres a possibility that the Italian Police bring Lance in for questioning regarding Intimidating a witness. Unbelievable.
