WTF
After all the denials, the "innocence campaign", the money.
WTF
Why didn't he just say this in the begining.
I really wanted to believe the guy was innocent, would have been pissed but forgiving if he had
stated this after the TdF stripping.

At this point in time, to many lies and to many changes in direction, he was lying at one point or
the other.

FO you worthless POS. FU Landis.......

I think we're safely past the issue of whether Landis sent the emails.

From the ESPN story:"Landis confirmed he sent e-mails to cycling and anti-doping officials over the past few weeks"

Also the WSJ story says they confirmed that they are legit.

I've got one of Floyd's ouch kits at home. I wore it last night for a practice TT. I guess it's probably worth more now that my taint has touched it.

I thought sports were for entertainment. Unless you participate. Then you make your own call.

They should name TDF WWF...

I have come to accept that all professional events where big money is involved, cheating is part of the equation. That is the price you paid to be on top.

Why just professional events and why only ones with big money? Amateurs dope, kids use roids to look good at the beach (competing for girls) chess masters dope. Doping has been a part of sport since competition began.

And of course, this would have had credibility had Landis made these pronouncements immediately after his TdF positive test. The sad thing is that despite the yawning credibility gap here, I still believe it. Doping sucks in sports. But once you inject millions and millions of dollars into sport, it's no longer sport. It's business. We like to pretend it's still sport. And that's the real problem. Our own collective naievte.

Floyd's first version of innocence was just never that persuasive. But now, this whole story, has a pretty solid ring of truth to it.

Classic Clintonian approach: "I didn't do it, but if it gets proven, I did it because everyone else did".

Maybe he could run for Nancyy Pelosi's seat.

No argument here. I guess I should have added the qualifier "rampant" use in pro events.

WOW this news IS a big surprise. Floyd who is basically a washed up, worn out, broken has-been trying to make his "career" and 15 negative minutes of fame last a little longer.

If you don't already realize that the biggest budgets, back then especially, (i.e. US Postal) had the best doctors and the best methods of hiding doping then you are living in a Lance-starstruck dream world. Lance was as dirty as the next guy. It is just the way it was and still is.

This is my favorite part:

From Pez....

"While Landis bankrupted himself fighting his ban stemming from the 1996 positive test (which he actually claims to be an error, as synthetic testosterone was not one of the drugs he was using to help win the Tour that year), he now admits to spending around $90,000 per year on his illegal preparation while racing".

So Floyd was doping but the French lab was still wrong in 2006? He is full of BS.

Outside of a National Enquirer-ish headlines for a few weeks, nothing's changed.

The 'Lance doped' crowd will call this proof of their accusations and cheer.

Those not in that group will be waiting for honest-to-God proof of the accusations.

Lots of electrons will be displaced on discussion groups and blogs.
