It's Not About The Drugs
I realize there is already a Flandis doping thread. however, i think the issue has taken a much more serious tone, and really has very little to do with Flandis, and very little to do with drugs.
If this story is correct, the current investigation began as a look into Rock Racing, and had nothing to do with LA or Flandis.
If true, all of those 'media conspiracy' and 'American-hating French' defenses are now fairy tales.
Also, if what is being investigated turns out to be true, I think LA will wish that it were about drugs, as using government funds to sponsor a doping program = federal prison.
Please note, LA and anyone involved are innocent at this point. i'm not a Lance hater (too much), and i'm not a huge fan of Floyd. I think this situation is going to begin the process of cleaning up cycling. Too bad it takes this, as this is the only cycling news my non-cycling friends talk about.

I replied to a Craigslist ad to buy two jars of chamois cream about two years ago. The lady selling the chamois cream and her boyfriend turned out to be soigneurs, both in Europe and in the USA. They were always on the road with the professional cycling caravan. She told me that one guy referred to in the washington post article was a big time dope pusher (EPO, steroids, cocaine), and I did not believe her. I just thought maybe she and her boyfriend just did not get along with this guy or his team. Now, I think I believe her.
She told me this two years ago. Unbelievable.

Little late for what? this article ran today. it actually speaks to the background of the investigation. i realize someone posted a link to the article in the whole 'Floyd' thread, but if you read the article, this case isn't about whether or not Floyd is believable. there is stuff being reported today that is much different form what we've been reading and commenting on. so, to answer your question, no i don't think it's a little late.
